  • Breastfeeding and dhea

    Hello,

I am weaning my 1 year old toddler son from breastfeeding and am trying for another baby. I am taking 50mg dhea once a day. Is this ok? He is not getting a lot of milk and I am weaning which means the milk is more watery. Would he get any dhea at all?

thanks for the clarification, have been googling this and wanted to doublecheck.

We do not recommend the use of DHEA while breastfeeding. In your case, the risk may be somewhat lower because your infant since is 1 year old, however, lower risk does not mean no risk.
We also do not recommend using it while pregnant. Please call the IRC at 806-352-2519 if you have any additional questions. Thank you!
