  • Prednisone low supply

Hi I was put on a Prednisone taper after receiving two steroid injections. I am on day 6 of my taper and my milk supply has drastically gone down. I have read through other posts and saw recommendations about starting Reglan but I am not sure where to go to get a prescription for this medication. My doctors are not available and will likely not prescribe something to increase supply.

    Good morning,

Unfortunately, decreased milk supply is a common side effect of steroids. As long as you are staying hydrated, and nursing or pumping frequently, your supply should return back to normal when you stop the Prednisone.
