I have been combo feeding my 2.5 week old so he gets maybe 50% breastmilk at the most for his diet. I have recently stopped taking the oxycodone prescribed post c-section, but have needed to take 0.5mg alprazolam occasionally (1-2x / day every few days) as a rescue medication for my anxiety … is it still safe to breastfeed? I normally wait atleast 4 hours after taking it to breastfeed again but I’m still worried I could be doing something harmful. He was born at 38weeks 2days perfectly healthy no issues.

Since your dosage is low, infrequent, and you are only feeding your baby 50% breast milk, the exposure here is likely very low. I recommend waiting 2 hours after taking it to feed, and monitoring for side effects such as sedation, slowed breathing rate, not waking to feed, and poor feeding. These side effects in your baby are again unlikely given your circumstances.
