    Wegovy

    Hello, I am curious what your thoughts are on starting Wegovy while breast-feeding my 17-month-old baby. She nurses about three times a day. We both enjoy nursing but my mental and physical health are affected by my obesity. Would love a little reassurance before going forward. Is there any new information? Thank you for this wonderful resource.

    Hi April,

    Since your baby is no longer solely depending on you for nutrition and is able to get nutrients from food, it is unlikely that it will cause harm to your baby. Unfortunately, it will take years to know if there is a long term effect, but we do not expect there to be one since this drug is poorly absorbed orally.

        Hello, I have one more question! Would you guys say Mounjaro is similar to Wegovy in regards to breastfeeding? Is it also a large molecule and unlikely to cause harm? I know we don’t know facts and this is all speculation, just trying to make a good decision. Thank you.
