I was prescribed dicyclomine in the er last night for abdominal pain, and have a 2.5 year old who nurses sporadically- now I’m seeing that it shouldn’t be taken while nursing infants- what about older children? How long should I wait to nurse

Hi we do not recommend to breastfeed while taking this. Dicyclomine is rated an L4 Possibly Hazardous. According to Hale's Medications, Following a dose of 20 mg in a lactating woman, a 12-day-old infant reported severe apnea. Do not use in breastfeeding women. We recommend to wait 24 hours after taking it.
