Could you offer some advice for a mother who has breastfed now for 16 months, needing to start taking low-dose Adderall 1x daily to help function well at work (previously was on the medication before pregnancy)? She is now only breastfeeding 1-2 times usually around 1am and 5am, and considering completely weaning (though finding it very difficult) in order to be able to start taking the Adderall. I would guess, based on how little milk the baby is probably actually getting at this point, as well as the Adderall half-life, that it is probably alright to start the medication and keep the night/early morning feeds. But your feedback would be very useful in making sure I'm correctly advising (I'm a public health nurse working with the perinatal population).

Because of the baby's age, lack of nursing sessions, and low, once daily intake, there is very little risk for this mother and infant.
