    Anne:

Some of our sources list a major drug interaction with Lexapro and domperidone. I'd suggest caution as many drug reduce the metabolism of Domperidone and apparently Lexapro is one of them. I'd also suggest a reduction in dosage to 60 mg per day or less.

    Lexapro and Domperidone

    Hi,

I've seen that fluoxetine and citalopram are not advised while taking domperidone, but have not seen anything about escitalopram (Lexapro), which is generally considered a "cleaner" drug with less interaction than citalopram. I started domperidone (80 mg/day) for low milk supply, likely secondary to hemorrhage, surgical birth, retained placenta, and possibly related to central hypothyroidism (low TSH, low T3/T4). I took Lexapro prior to pregnancy for OCD/depression but did not take it during pregnancy to avoid infant risk. I think I have some postpartum depression which is largely related to the nursing issues- I desperately wanted to breastfeed exclusively.
Thoughts on lexapro with domperidone and dosing?

    Thanks,
    Anne
