  • Hemorroids cream and suppository

Hello I suffer from hemorroids and recently one of them started bleeding and I have been bleeding for a week every time I have a bowl movement.
tosay I went to see a Gastroenterologist and she prescribed two medications: procto-glyvenol which I read is safe to take whilst breastfeeding and doxiproct plus to be appled to the suppository before being inserted. I cannot find anything on this. Any ideas? My daughter is 2 months old

    Laura:

Both these products are topical preparations used in the rectum. I doubt they will be significantly absorbed or be hazardous to your infant. That said, we don't really have much if any data on these two unusual products.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been waiting for your reply as I am and always have been very careful when taking any medication whilst breastfeeding.
