A colleague of mine has narcolepsy and takes Xyrem at night and Provigil by day. She is planning to try to conceive and is very anxious about going off her medications, since she is not able to function well without them, her work becomes extremely difficult, she can't drive due to frequent accidents, etc. I saw one post regarding Provigil and am aware some alternatives may work, but it seems there is nothing known about Xyrem. Can you comment about if Xyrem or Provigil would affect a developing fetus and if Xyrem would pass into breastmilk? Thank you.
