  • Vitex during pregnancy

I just found out I'm pregnant (I believe I'm about 4 weeks along). I was taking vitex to regulate my cycles prior to getting pregnant, and now I'm not sure whether I should stop it cold turkey, continue it, or wean off slowly. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would recommend you stop using vitex immediately. It may change your progesterone levels and this could be a problem.

I can't tell you what to do as there haven't been enough studies done for anyone to know what is safest.
However, I stopped taking Vitex the day I found out I was pregnant three weeks ago. Luckily it was the last pill in my bottle, so no wastage!

I had starting taking Vitex twice everyday for about a month, than found out I was pregnant and stopped completely because the bottle says "do not take while pregnant."
