  • Sertraline/Pregnancy

I have been taking 150mg of Sertraline for over 10 years. I just found out that I am pregnant. Is it safe to continue taking throughout pregnancy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Walia:

Yes, quite safe. Ask you doctor, but its the most common SSRI used in pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

Are there any issues with taking it throughout the third trimester?

        Walla:

At deliverly, very slight risk of withdrawal. Rarely occurs at this dose. Nothing to be concerned about. You could start to taper by half for 2 weeks, but not really necessary.
