  • SSRIs and fertility in offspring

I was wondering if there is any concern about taking SSRIs during pregnancy and the future fertility of offspring.
I took Prozac 40mg until around 5 weeks gestation with my son, and Zoloft 200mg until around 6 weeks gestation with my daughter. I then resumed the medications while breastfeeding my children. My children are healthy and developmentally on target. However I was wondering if there is any concern about their future fertility due to SSRI exposure in utero?

    MDDH83:

I've not heard of any such side effect. I checked PubMed and couldn't find any such suggestion.

I'd not worry about it, mom.
