Pregnant, swallowed some dental cement

  • Pregnant, swallowed some dental cement

    Hi there,

I'm pregnant, in my second trimester (22 weeks). My crown fell off, so I had it put back on today. While the dentist tech was trying to remove some of the cement from between my teeth, I swallowed, not realizing un-set cement was also mixed in with my saliva. Now I'm afraid I've done some kind of harm to my baby. Have I?

    Thank you,

    Melissa

    Missy384,

I spoke with Dr Hale he advised the cement would not be harmful, but advised not to have any mercury (amalgam) fillings removed during pregnancy.
