  • D-Mannose safe for breastfeeding?

Recurrent UTI's that are not responding well to antibiotics - is it okay to give D-Mannose 500 mg three times daily for 3-5 days?

    Dear stilljbrooke,

D-Mannose is probably ok to use during breastfeeding. The drug goes almost exclusively (unmetabolized) to the urinary tract and is excreted through urine. Monitor infant for side effects of loose stools and bloating.

    Sincerely,
    Areeba Anam,

If you struggle with frequent UTIs, D-mannose can make a real difference in your life. D mannose is an extremely safe all natural powder which is as effective as antibiotic plus it has no side effects as well.
