    Hello,
I have just found out I have a Vitamin D insufficiency and my doctor suggested taking 100 000 UI every 15 days, 3 times.
    I'm nursing a 10 month old baby.
    My current 25-OH Vitamin D level is 14 ng/mL (>30 ng/mL is considered normal, <10 ng/mL is considered deficit).
    QUESTIONS:
    1. I've read on your forum that only 10 000 UI are safe daily...what about 100 000 every 15 days?
    2. Do you think the baby might have been affected by my insufficiency?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi, thanks for your post.

Have a look at this post where we discuss higher doses of Vitamin D. I believe that 100000 IU every two weeks is probably safe in your situation.

You pediatrician is much better qualified to determine if your baby has been affected by your vitamin deficiency. I will defer to him or her on that matter.
