  • High doses of calcium after thyroidectomy

A mother is taking 5 gr of calcium daily (for only a few days) after thyroidectomy. Is it OK to breastfeed her 11 month old?

    Korina:

Calcium content of milk is thightly controlled by the breast. I really doubt this dose would even affect levels in milk.

I wouldn't worry about this dose.
