  • ciprodex

I was prescribed ciprodex (ear drops) for a ruptured ear drum. I'm only bf once a day before bedtime at this point. Is it o.K. to use?

    Shomoru:

Ciprodex contains low levels of ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone. Only minuscule levels would ever be absorbed from the ear canal or even from the eye. Even far far less would ever make it to the milk compartment. I'd suggest it is probably quite safe to continue breastfeeding while using this preparation.
