  • Safest topical anesthetic?

Hello, I would like to get a facial treatment (radio frequency Microchanneling) that involves topical anesthetic applied to the face and neck. It could be lidocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine, prilocaine, one of the combo products, etc, are these safe while nursing? Is there a safest choice, and any need to pump and dump after? Thank you!

      Hi Mackk,

We've been making updates to our servers - we're here! We are also working with a small team and do our best to make the most of our many priorities. Please call the InfantRisk Center nurse hotline during business hours once you know the drug and dose you are concerned about. At first glance, I suspect the dose you'll get of any of those options won't be big enough to cause any concern if you continue breastfeeding a healthy infant.
