    Hi desimatt1,

We don't have any data on transfer into breastmilk, but absorption of clotrimizole into your body after topical administration is negligible. As long as you are avoiding contact areas with the baby, I expect it should be safe.

    Best,

    Tinea Versicolor- Skin Fungus Treatment

    Hello,
During the summer time I often get a skin fungus called tinea versicolor. In the past I have used the topical cream clotrimizole- typically used for athlete's foot to clear it up. Is this safe for breastfeeding? If not, is there an alternative you recommend?
    Many thanks!
