  • Lotemax Ophthalmic 0.5% Eye Breastfeeding Safety

Hi. Can you tell me if Lotemax Ioteprednol etabonate ophthalmic suspension 0.5% eye drops are safe for a nursing 10 month old? I have to use one drop twice a day and am conflicted about using at all.

    2ndJoy,

Lotemax is rated an L3-no data-probably compatible. Steroids do not enter breast milk readily, especially ophthalmically administered steroids. We think it is probably safe to nurse using these eye drops.
