Mamadonna:
As for CBD oil, we have no data at all in breastfed infants. I'm pretty sure levels will be low, but I'd avoid it until we know more.

Thank you so much for your response! It gives me a lot of peace of mind. I worry about becoming dependent on Ambien if I take it more than occasionally. Do you have any information on if CBD oil is safe for breastfeeding? Thank you.

Mommadonna:
At 5 months of age, Ambien shouldn't harm and infant, particularly if you wait up to 9 hours after taking it to breastfeed.
Just watch infant for sedation and poor feeding.
If half a table works for you, even better.

Ambien
Hello,
I have a full term, healthy 5 month old. I was prescribed 5 mg Ambien for occasional insomnia. Typically she can go 6-9 hours without breastfeeding in the night. Is this safe? How long should I wait to breastfeed her again? Would it make a difference if I only took half? Is there a safer option? I've tried diphenhydramine and it helps only sometimes. Thank you so much!Tags: None
