Hi,
I have a reoccurring prolactinoma that is 12mmx12mm and am currently breastfeeding my 2month old. The Neurosurgeon is meeting with a team to discuss my treatment options. As I understand it, we are either going to do medicine (Bromocriptine or Cabergoline) or Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. I want to continue to breastfeed and I know that these medications inhibit the prolactin needed to breastfeed. I have read that you can continue to breastfeed if the medications are given in small doses. Do you recommend one medicine over the other? I would love as much information as I can get on the subject to bring to my Endocrinologist. Also, if they decide to do the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery will I have to stop breastfeeding? And if so, for how long? Thanks you for your help.
