Hello Dr., I have a 3 month old baby whom I breastfeed and i had a question about my medication. My thyroid is currently only slightly hyper and I am taking very low dose of medication. I have a choice between two types and i was wondering which would be safer for my breastfed baby. Methimazole 5mg once a day or the PTU 50 mgs once a day. Thanks Dr.

Methimazole is currently the standard of care and it is ideal for a breastfeeding woman
