• Coloring hair while breastfeeding

Is using permanent hair color safe while breastfeeding? I keep reading conflicting information. Thank you!

    Hi, thanks for your post.

For a typical product, very little of it is absorbed into the bloodstream where it could potentially end up in the milk. In general, hair coloring is safe to use while breastfeeding, but I can't say with any more certainty than that without knowing what's actually in the coloring you are using.

Please post again or call us at the InfantRisk Center if this has not completely answered your question.*(806)352-2519

You can adopt natural ways to color your hair. I have somewhere read that coffee can be used to dye the hair. Try to stay away from dyes that contains harmful chemicals. You can also check about the Hair beauty supply online products at http://www.ehairwig.com/index.php/hair-care.html for find some good products for your hair.
