I’m hoping you can help me understand how long after taking this medication it would be in my breast milk. Thank you.

Diclofenac and breast milk

Hi FTM,
Very little diclofenac transfers to breast milk -- less than 1% of a weight-adjusted dose (not 1% of your dose, but 1% of an equivalent infant's dose). We believe it to be very safe, and there is no need to wait to breastfeed.
If for any reason that does not satisfy you, the immediate release oral formulations have about a 1-1.5 hour half-life. This means after 3-4.5 hours almost 90% of the medication is gone from your system.
