  • Botox for migraines--safe?

I have chronic migraines and previously was using botox prior to pregnancy. It was recommended to restart as my migraines are returning. I am 9 months postpartum and still breastfeeding. is it safe to start the injections or should i wait until i wean? thank you

    Dear Saki14

Botox when injected properly,is extremely unlikely to ever enter the plasma or milk compartment. A brief interruption of a few hours to ascertain that none has entered the plasma would all but eliminate any possible complications in a breastfeeding mother. Further, because this product is so large, it would have an extremely difficult time entering the milk compartment.
