  • Imodium (Loperamide) and Breastfeeding

Is it safe to take over the counter (OTC) Imodium for stomach issues while breastfeeding? If so, should we take the dosage as recommended by the package or should it be a smaller amount? Any recommended precautions such as a pump and dump? Thank you so much for your help! It's greatly appreciated.

    moomoo:

Imodium is structurally similar to opiates, but it is not absorbed from the GI tract. I really doubt it would even produce significant levels in your plasma.

    I wouldn't worry about it.
