  • Gavilyte-G for Colonoscopy Prep?

I'm bfing a 3 month old and having a colonoscopy. My dr rx'd Gavilyte-G (general for Golytely Sol) for the prep. Is it safe?
My dr said it is safe. The pharmacist and pediatrician said it's unknown and rec'd I pump and dump for 12-24 hours after consuming. Thank you.

    flaminalpha,

The Golytely should be ok. This product stays mostly in your GI tract, and although there is no data available on the transfer into breast milk, it is highly unlikely that enough maternal absorption would occur to produce milk levels.
