    Dear Sir or Madam,

I have been prescribed a combination pill containing Ethinylestradiol 0.02mg. Is it safe to continue breastfeeding a 24 months old boy?

Thank you very much for your advice.

    elizabethantonia,

This medication is rated an L3-limited data-probably compatible. I am assuming this is combined with some form of progesterone. These hormones may decrease your milk supply, but have low transfer into breast milk so the effects on your infant should be minimal. There have been some cases of gynecomastia, but are extremely rare.
