I have been prescribed PreviDent 5000 dry mouth toothpaste by my dentist. It has a higher amount of fluoride than what can normally be purchased in the store. It contains 1.1% sodium fluoride. Is this okay to use while breastfeeding? I am supposed to use it once a day. I have an almost 8 month old. Thank you in advance!

    Awarren5,

Fluoride is rated an L2-limited data-probably compatible. Brushing should be limited to <= 2 times daily with fluoridated toothpaste and to spit out excess toothpaste.
