  • Agranulocytosis, carbimazole and breastfeeding

I have been started on a small dose of carbimazole 5mg for graves hyperthyroidism and am still breastfeeding my 9 month old. I am aware of the studies that show infant thyroid function appears unaffected but would like to know whether there is any information on the risk of antithyroid drug side effects in the baby - for example agranulocytosis. Is this possible, are there any case reports? Or is the dose received in the baby too low to produce effects (although my understanding is that rare side effects are not strictly dose related).
    Thanks
