  • Gonal-F

    Hello,

I'm currently breastfeeding my 9 month old. Can you confirm if it is safe for my baby if I take Gonal-F for an IUI treatment?

    Thank you.

    Alicia:

Gonal F is follicle stimulating hormone. It is too large to enter milk to any degree and it would not be orally absorbed. However, breastfeeding while using this drug may make it more difficult to get pregnant, as prolactin is known to suppress ovulation.

Talk with you physician about this.
