  • Extract wisdom teeth and breastfeeding 3 months old

I am going to have my 2 wisdom teeth extracted soon. The dentist is gonna use local anesthesia and general anesthesia during procedure. The procedure listed as D9223 and 3 times D9222. Do I need to pump and dump breast milk during 24 hours after anesthesia or maybe longer?

The local anesthesia should be ok. As for the general anesthesia we would need to know what meds they are using to advise you properly. The most commonly used meds like versed, propofol, fentanyl, dexamethasone, an antibiotic and ketamine we usually recommend waiting about 4 hours, and as long as you are fully awake at that time and not feeling the effects of the anesthesia then you can resume nursing at that time, if you are still feeling the effects then wait until they pass. If there are any other added meds then those listed please re-post a list.
