    I know they are not tested in breastmilk, but what do you think about amino acid supplementation for bipolar during breastfeeding? For example: L-theonine, tyrosine, L-tryptophan, and GABA...

    As you stated, we don't know anything about their use in breastfeeding mothers and I'd suggest caution. I think I'd opt for more conventional therapy that we know works, such as lamotrigine or valproic acid, etc.

    Be careful with lithium, as levels in milk are moderate.
