    Dear danibclc,

There is insufficient scientific evidence to determine if Labrador tea is safe during breastfeeding. Precautions from Natural Standard database state that Labrador tea properties are similar to those in narcotics and therefore, may cause central nervous system depression. In infants, this effect may lead to apnea. Also, excessive amounts may cause stomach complaints and diarrhea. Hope this information helps.

    Sincerely,
    Cindy Pride, MSN, CPNP

I work with the Cree Natives and they use Labrador Tea as a medicine againts diabetes. They also drink the tea as a hot beverage. Do we have any information on it's compatibility with breastfeeding?
