  • Nattokinase safety while breastfeeding?

I am interested to know if you have any information on the safety of nattokinase (derived from the food, Japanese natto - fermented soybeans) for a breastfed baby? The dose is 100 mg and I've been taking it daily. In Japan, many people eat it daily for breakfast. It's very good for heart health and is thought to have a blood thinning effect along with lowering blood pressure.

Nattokinase is just a large molecular weight protein enzyme. It would not likely enter milk at all. That said, I can't really tell you that its safe to use in breastfeeding, but I think the risk is low.
