    Ashwagandha (Withania somniferia)

    Dear Dr Hale

I am currently breastfeeding my 2 and a half year old infant often daily and at night.

Is it safe for me to take Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) for about two weeks? The herbal doctor I saw said it is. I thought it better to check.

I also tried to look on the Natural Standard Database website, but you need a subscription for that.

    Thank you.

    Ashwagandha:

Sorry, I don't have the slightest idea what these herbals are.
