  • Manuka honey and Mastic Gum for H Pylori

Wondering if using manuka honey (1 tsp 4x/day) is ok while breastfeeding to try to naturally help eliminate H Pylori. Asking bc it is from tea tree and do not know if this medicinal use is unsafe. BF toddler is 26 mos.

Additionally curious about the safety of using of Mastic gum while BF for pylori as well.

Not sure if toddler could get this infection from me also....

    Thanks

    EveG:

I don't see a problem with using Manuka honey while breastfeeding, particularly in an infant of 26 months.

I don't see a problem with using Mastic gum, although we don't really have any data on it, but it seems harmless "in a 26 month old" infant. Maybe not so good in a newborn.
