Dr. Hale: recently I worked with a mother who had cardiac arrhythmias when she went from 10 mg to 20 mg dosage on domperidone, with her doctor's permission. (She had commented, as well, that she felt she had gained weight when she began taking domperidone). Everything was back to normal when she discontinued the domperidone. I have worked with several hundred moms throughout the past 20 years and never had this happen. is this where it should be reported?

As for reporting it, I don't know that it is anything new. We've seen this rarely in patients all over the world and we know how it works.
I'd suggest however, that this mom be checked with an ECG to make sure she does not have an existing arrhythmia, or a prolonged QT interval that may require treatment.
