Hello!
I am still nursing my 31 month old a handful of times a day. I am considering a GLP 1 for weight loss as I have found it impossible to lose weight while breastfeeding and am now very overweight and worried about my health. I have read a ton on here about the low amount that transfers to breast milk - thank you so much for this info! The one remaining question I have is that I remember a lot of early worry with GLPs surrounding the fact that exposed rats seemed to have a higher thyroid cancer risk. I don’t believe this has been seen in humans (could be wrong about that, or also could just be too early for long term data) - anyway, my question is: theoretically if there is an increased risk to humans, would we expect that the minimal amount in breast milk would also confer an increased risk to the breastfed child? I’m desperate to find a weight loss solution , but can’t stop worrying that I would be increasing my son’s risk of thyroid cancer. Thank you so much for any info you can provide! I really appreciate this site so much!
