  • Adderall IR and nursing

    Hello,
I'm currently nursing a 9 1/2 month old anywhere from 3-5x a day. I desperately need to get back on my adderal and am wondering if I could still nurse or need to wean in some form

My usual dosage was 30mg IR, which I would take first thing in the morning, typically between 5:30-6am.

When my baby was about 2 months old, I took just 10mg in the morning and would often nurse her 4-5 hours later. We never experienced any ill effect, but 10mg just wasn't working for me so I stopped.

If I took 30mg Ir in the am, could I still nurse her at night at least and see how things went? I don't think she's ready to wean but I'm also at a point where I can't go on much longer the way I am without adderall.
Thank you in advance for your help and for all that you do.

    Honeybee:

Check out some info we've already published. Click on the link below and the question about ADHD.

Basically, the amphetamines when used in moderation are reasonably safe. Just observe for insomnia, agitation, and poor appetite in the infant.
