  • adipex while barely breastfeeding a 2.5yo

I am barely breastfeeding a 2.5 yo. He nurses maybe once a day just prior to bed. I had bariatric surgery a little over 1 year ago so my supply greatly reduced. If I pump, which is rarely, I will get a max of 1 oz combined and this would be after days of not breastfeeding. If I go on a work related trip I no longer bring a pump and do not leak or feel engorged even after 4+ days without breastfeeding. I have tried to fully wean him, but he really likes the comfort and struggles with giving up this last little bit of breastfeeding. My bariatric dr wants to place me on phentermine to help augment my weight loss. I realize this medication is not really researched and currently not recommended in infants, but given my kiddo's age and my very low supply I am thinking it should be relatively ok. Am I correct in my thinking? Thank you for your guidance
