Better to quit breastfeeding?

  • Better to quit breastfeeding?

My son just turned one year old. I resumed adderall when he was 6 months with a dose of 15mg.

My pre pregnancy dose was 30mg a day.

I’m wondering whether I should quit breastfeeding now, or if there is still more benefit of nursing at a year old even on 30 mg?

    thank you so much.

    Jackie:

At one year the amount of milk you produce starts to fall over time...hence the dose of the drug you take is reduced as well. And the infant's metabolism is quite robust at one year.
I'd suggest you try increasing your dose of Adderall and continue breastfeeding while observing your infant for poor sleep, excitement, poor appetite. I doubt you'll see these.
