  • Phentermine and pump and dump

My daughter will be 6 months next week. I exclusively pump. I thought I wanted to stop breastfeeding and started to supplement with formula at night. My doctor placed me on phentermine since I gained 70lbs during my pregnancy. I have been on it for the past 5 days and giving my daughter frozen breastmilk and formula. I have pumped and dump during that time to prevent engorgement and also I think deep down I’m not ready to stop breastfeeding. I would like to resume breastfeeding for a few more months. How many days should I wait from my last dose to resume breastfeeding?

    FAMT:

at 6 months there is not much risk if you wait about 48 hours AFTER you finish the phentermine.
