    Just want to know if lamictal is considered safe while breastfeeding ? Can a mother breastfeed a newborn on lamictal? Thankyou

    Yes, mothers can safely breastfeed while using Lamictal (lamotrigine). There are hundreds of posts on this site about moms using it. About 9.2% - 18.2% of the maternal dose gets to the infant. After about a month of life, only minimal levels are found in the infant.

    Observe for a RASH in the infant. While extremely rare, it could indicate an allergy in the infant. Discuss with pediatrician.
