We have a mom with gitlemans syndrome who is on inspra(eplerenone)12.5mg a day.Can find no info on it and breastfeeding other than one that cautions its use. The baby has started nursing and is 3 days old and the mom really wants to continue. Any information would be very helpful.

    Dear Michelle,
Unfortunately, we don't have any information regarding this drug and its transfer into milk. There are no human studies available. Animal studies have shown no adverse effects and we feel that transfer into milk is probably minimal. However, due to lack of data, we cannot comment on its safety.
