  • Losartan and breastfeeding a one month old

    Hi,
I’m in dilemma to start my losartan back but I’m having increased protein leakage. Is it okay to breastfeed with low dose losartan?

    thanks.

    Hi pdoman13,

We don't have any data on the transfer of losartan into breastmilk. We do have research for other similar drugs like candesartan or enalapril which suggest they are safe in some scenarios. These, and probably losartan, are not likely to cause harm in a healthy term 1-month-old with good renal function at low doses.
