  • Telfast 180mg (fexofenadine)

I'm in the uk and have a very sever grass pollen allergy that ordinarily I would manage through steroids and antihistamines. I have not been affected in pregnancy but have had my first severe reaction this morning at 4 wks pp. I am due to start desensitization next week under my consultant but didn't know if I could take the telfast whilst breastfeeding as I can only find conflicting advice.

Cetirizine and other antihistamines just don't seem to control my immune response anymore so my only other option is prednisilone.

Many thanks in advance for any advise you can give me

    Hembleton:

Telfast is fexofenadrine a long-acting non-sedating antihistamine. We generally suggest it is probably safe to use in a breastfeeding mother. Only about 0.45% - 0.7% of your dose would ever get to the infant.
