We have had a LLL call from a mother who started taking Zoloft 5 days ago and feels she has had a decrease in milk production. She is also taking Domperidone. Are you aware of a possible link between Zoloft and decreased production?

Ckent,
We do not have any documentation that Zoloft decreases milk supply. Dr Hale says that the majority of breastfeeding mothers do not have an issue with supply and the use of Zoloft, but that the depression itself or some underlying issue could be the cause.
