    St John's Wort.

I understand it is safe to take while breastfeeding but can you tell me if there is any risk of this suppressing lactation or lowering prolactin levels?

    Thank you.

    Dragonfly:

The literature is full of references to the effect of St. John's wort or its extracts on prolactin. Many studies (some human, lots rodent) see to suggest that its reduces prolactin levels, but I don't know if this is true in BREASTFEEDING mothers.

Something to consider when consuming this product.
